Have you been trying to launch a course or a membership or some kind of online class offering and it just doesn't seem to be clicking with the audience of people that are connecting with you? Well, I want to give you some tips today on how you can really start seeing some differences big time here today on 5-Minute Mentoring. Have you ever wanted to have someone in your life who you could ask real questions about your art, your business, and even your walk with the Lord? Well, that's exactly what we do every Friday here on 5-Minute Mentoring, where I answer one question from one of my awesome podcast listeners in order to help you start really thriving as the artist you know God created you to be. Music Well, hey, my friend. I hope you're doing well. Listen, I got a great question the other day from somebody in our Created to Thrive Artist Mentoring Program. They're diligently going through the modules. They're learning how to grow their art business, and they're renewing their heart and mind. They're doing all the stuff that we talk about. And they had a question, though. They said, you know, I've been wanting to get these classes out, these online course offerings out. And so I've been doing everything you say, Matt. I've been doing all the best practices and that sort of thing. And it just doesn't seem that it's clicking with people. And she was like, how How do you know the difference between you just need to try a new avenue, kind of a new take on your marketing versus this is just not working? Well, as I started to answer her, I was like, this would be a great podcast. I need to just do this as a podcast episode, and then I'm going to answer her as well in our weekly live Q&A. I was just thinking to myself, it's so common nowadays for everybody to think they can just go out and, oh, everybody's doing online. I'm just going to do a course. I'm just going to do a product. I'm going to do a thing. And you just think because so many people are having success online, which many of our members do, you just think, oh, it just happens overnight. And when in reality, rarely does it happen overnight. It's always a process of development. And The success, the people that have success in this, and I can speak from a lot of experience having sold tons and tons and tons of online resources over the years. The main differentiating factor, I think, is how people start. If you start out with, hey, I got this great course. This would be awesome. People would love it. And you put all this work and time and effort into it and then put it out there. You may get a few likes. You may get a few purchases and that sort of thing. But rarely is that just going to come on the scene to be like, this is the best thing that I've ever seen. I've never seen anybody do it like this. It just rarely happens like that. More often than not, the people that I know that really begin to see success in their life and in their classes, especially as they're marketing online and that sort of thing, you know what they do? They first start giving value. They begin to share what God's put on their heart. They begin to operate out of that place, listen, where they've got demonstrated authority, demonstrated success, a track record of being able to help people get transformation in their life. Whatever that That is, whether it's an art class, whether it's a personal development class, whether it's a spiritual class, whatever, they're operating out of the place that they have a demonstrated success If you don't operate out of that place, then it's really hard to get traction, first of all. And it's really hard for you to kind of operate out of the overflow, if you will, which I believe is the kingdom principle. You know, the thing that God's done in me, now I want to turn around. And just like Paul said, follow me as I follow Christ. I want to help others be able to get the success that I've had in a certain area. All right. So if you'll start giving value and then number two, watch for connection. I believe as you authentically share and do the thing that God's put on you and in you to do, he will begin to draw the people around you that authentically connect. And you can watch for connection. And what happens? When you watch for connection, you start to see, oh, these are the things that you're interested in. These are the things that they actually need. And, you know, imagine this. I know, crazy. Actually ask them. Ask the people that are beginning to come around you. Watch their comments. Watch their questions. Watch their comments. What are the things that they're asking for? And then I know this is mind blowing, but when you create the course or you create the opportunity, give them what they want. Don't create something that is like, this would be so awesome. No, it really doesn't matter what you think. It matters what the people that are connecting with you need. And nine times out of 10, I know this sounds, you know, reverse psychology here, but nine times out of 10, People need a lot more simple solutions than you think they need. You know, you may be teaching way up here and they just may need to know the basics. And maybe you could do a great basics course and it would absolutely get them excited and get them, you know, into whatever it is that you're trying to teach them. Again, spiritual, art related, in-person classes, online classes, whatever, you know, retreat opportunities, whatever it may be, give them what they want. All right. That is so, so huge in line, of course, with what your demonstrated success and authority is. And then I would say, continue to look for, you know, the open doors of favor. Where do you see, you know, what things when you're talking about them, when you're doing them, where do you see the favor of God? I always say, follow the favor, go to the places and do the things where you see God moving and partner with him in that. And then lastly, remember, Always, always, always look for a unique angle. You know, there are 10 gajillion people out there doing essentially the same thing. in whatever it is, from spiritual development teaching, from personal development teaching, from art lesson teaching. So what is it that God's given you uniquely? How can you begin to share value in that, begin to allow people to connect with you in that, so that when you begin to create an offering for people, not only are people wanting what you're offering, they're wanting to connect with who is offering it, which is you, all right? I promise you, if you'll do that, you will immediately begin to see not only a tribe form, not only a group of people begin to come around you, but you'll begin to have huge potential for creating opportunities, both in line or online and in person that will be able to generate income so that you can have the time and freedom and resources to not only be blessed, but be a blessing to others and have the impact that you believe God wants you to have in your life. All right. I love you, my friend. If this is a blessing to you, be sure to comment, be sure to share, be sure to subscribe and let me know that what we're doing here over the Thriving Christian Artist podcast is a blessing to you. All right, until next time, I love you. Remember, you were created to thrive. Bye. Hey, my friend, it's Matt. Listen, real quick before you go, I wanted to let you know that we just launched the website for our 2022 Gathering of Artisans conference. I know, can you believe it? I'm like, I'm so ready to get back together in person. And listen, the website's got all the details about this year's workshops and speakers and more. Listen, if you've never been to Gathering of Artisans, all I can say is there is nothing like it in the world. Imagine three full days of creating in the studio with other Christian artists and We'll be right back. with me several times. He's the author of The Story of With and other books that you'll know. Also, my friend Luke Allsbrook, who is a renowned artist and has an incredible story of how God's led him through his life as an artist. And even little old me, I'll be there as well, sharing with you each night in leading worship. Listen, all of that wrapped up in four days of community and connection with other Christian artists here in the mountains of Western North Carolina at the beautiful Ridgecrest Conference Center.
